tuesday tunes

Hey everybody, it’s Bo the Webguy!

Normally Thursday is throwback day on the radio, but the Surf DJs are taking it way back — all the way to songs recorded before the year 2000. Me? I’m  going back to March of 2021 today..

Do you remember what was happening on the chart back then? Man, it was a battle at the top! Jim Quick & Coastline and Band of Oz were going at it for that number one spot. Down in the top 25 you had the usual suspects tearing it up — Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot, Rick and Lesa, and Too Much Sylvia. We were also spinning some great stuff from The Entertainers and Cat 5. Songs from Scott Fine and Paul Craver were also appearing on the Surf Countdown.

If you’ve got a minute, go pull up that chart from March 20th, 2021 and check out how they all ranked.

Good memories!

That same month we were selling tickets like crazy for the 4th Annual OD Beach Music Festival. We had missed a year because of everything going on, and folks were more than ready to party with us on the lot in Ocean Drive. That lineup was fire — Too Much Sylvia, Band of Oz, and Jim Quick & Coastline.

Fast forward to right now… we are only 7 weeks away from the 9th Annual Ocean Drive Beach Music Festival, presented by Carolina Outdoor Power Equipment, the City of North Myrtle Beach, and 94.9 The Surf! Featured on the stage May 2nd will be Band of Oz, Jim Quick & Coastline and the Commodores.

So tell me — do you have your tickets yet? If not, what are you waiting for? Let’s go!
